Editorial policy

Numbers are easy to fake and hard to check. This policy is how we keep ours honest.
Sourcing standards
- Every price is traceable. Each data table names its source (retailer listing, published cost guide, manufacturer spec) and the date it was checked.
- No invented figures. We never publish a price, rate, or statistic we can't source. Where data is estimated or uncertain, we label it as such instead of presenting it as fact.
- Primary sources preferred. Retailer listings and manufacturer specs outrank aggregator articles; dated 2026 sources outrank undated ones.
How AI is used here
We're transparent about this: we use AI tools to help draft and structure content. But AI doesn't get the final word on anything numerical — every price, rate, and formula is human-verified against a named source before publishing, and the verification date is printed on the page. An AI drafting assistant plus human-verified numbers is our standard; unverified AI output is never published as fact.
What we won't publish
- Templated location pages with swapped city names ("painters in [City]") — low value and explicitly penalized by search engines.
- Fake reviews, testimonials, or author personas.
- "Best of" rankings that are really pay-to-play placements.
- Content designed to rank rather than to help — if a page wouldn't be worth bookmarking, it doesn't ship.
Corrections
When we're wrong, we fix it fast and visibly. Price corrections update the check date the same day they're verified. Substantive corrections to published analysis are noted on the page. Report errors to sanaullahx51@gmail.com — corrections jump the queue.
Freshness
Price data is re-verified quarterly; labor ranges semi-annually (see methodology). Pages display their last-verified date so you can judge freshness yourself.
